HONEYVILLE - Herbert Leroy Minich, a 14-year resident of Honeyville passed away on May 3, 2013 at Maple Springs Assisted Living in Brigham City. Herb was born in rural western Pennsylvania on December 4, 1919 to Jay and Elsie Minich. He attended the local one room school and graduated from Grove City College. Herb married Helen L. Moore on February 26, 1944.
Herb was an international executive with Exxon for over 36 years. He also served as the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for five years before returning to the US in 1975. Prior to moving to Honeyville, Herb and Helen lived in New Jersey and Virginia.
Herb is survived by children: Janet (Cyrus) Freston, UT; Jay Minich (Gina Calzetta), PA; Dennis (Johanne) Minich, IL; Marla (Tom) Harmon, WI; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Herb was preceded in death by his wife Helen, and their son Douglas Minich.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 311 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Maple Springs and to Alison and Bill Johnson with Integrity Hospice.
