J. Lynn Tesch Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jerald Lynn Tesch. Born in Ogden, Utah, on the 13th of September, 1938, his life was a testament to the values he held dear: empathy, loyalty, and unwavering support for those he loved. A humble man who marched to the beat of his own drummer, Lynn’s unique rhythm was the soundtrack to a life richly lived. His life's journey came to a close on the 18th of April, 2024, but his legacy of love and service will continue.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lynn’s faith was the foundation of his life and informed his interactions with others. His commitment to service was evident in all he did. He went on his LDS mission to the Netherlands where he became fluent in Dutch and served as a language instructor. He also loved serving as a Sunday School teacher, sharing his wisdom and faith with young adults.

Lynn's professional journey was as diverse as it was impactful. He was an educator for 14 years, teaching English, History, and Special Education to junior high and high school students. He was a mail carrier serving Ogden Canyon and Ogden Valley for 10 years. He also worked as a bus driver, first at Greyhound followed by many years at UTA. While working at UTA he was proud to receive the "Million Mile Accident Free" safe driving award. His favorite route was the express run between Weber State University and University of Utah, a testament to his love for interaction and education.

Lynn loved hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, swimming and cave exploring. He had a great love for nature, and adventure.

The center of his world was always his family. He married Marian, the love of his life on August 4, 1967. His love for Marian and his children was a testament to his supportive and loyal nature.

Lynn is survived by his wife Marian Tesch, his children Michelle (Matthew) Conrow and Kim (Ana) Tesch, his brother Larry (Dora) Tesch, his sisters Laraine (Bruce) Gardiner and Kathy (Marc) Cooley, and his step-grandchildren Lani and Levi Tesch. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Tesch and Lucile Bartlett, and his sister Nancy McConnell.
