Brigham City – Jackie Dean Craghead-Cevering passed away unexpectedly surrounded by family after struggling with Parkinsons Disease for many years. She was born on September 30, 1949, in Brigham City, Utah, daughter of Dean and Shirley Craghead. Jackie attended Central Elementary, Box Elder Junior High, and graduated from Box Elder High School. She received her TRT license from Brigham Young University. Jackie married Ronald Gardner in Brigham City, Utah in 1978 and they later solemnized their vows at the Logan Temple. Jackie and Ronald later divorced though remained friends. Jackie married Ronnie Cevering on June 28, 2000, they spent many years traveling and boating, and Ron remained happily by her side until the end. She was a visiting teacher, primary president, primary teacher, relief society teacher. Jackie was the Activities Director at Aspen Care Center, served as PTA President for 5 years at Lewis Elementary School, and she gave countless hours of her time volunteering for many different organizations in the community. Jackie enjoyed public speaking and providing Avon beauty care products, taking pride in being the number one sales associate in Utah for many years. In 1967 Artic Circle sponsored Jackie for Peach Queen in Brigham City. Throughout the years Jackie enjoyed many hobbies. She was a talented seamstress, needleworker, and crocheter. Jackie was known to complete anything she set her mind to. Surviving are her children and stepchildren, Stefan (Adele) Gardner, Annjeannette (Marvin) Ellis, Deanna Espinoza, Sheldon (Crysta) Gardner, Natalie House, Travis (Julie) Cevering, Janel (Chris) Barnett. Ron and Jackie had many Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren. Jackie is also survived by her sisters Lois Reese, Sharon Skenandore Burton, Deana Craghead, and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Shirley Craghead, her sister Barbara Craghead, and nephews Kerry and Keith Warren.
A viewing will be held on Friday 8/25 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, 8/26 at the Meadowbrook Ward, 373 15th St., Ogden. A viewing will be held prior from 12–1 pm. Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
