James William "Bill" Boggs

HOOPER – James William "Bill" Boggs, our loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, 76, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at Washington Terrace Care Center.

He was born January 12, 1934 in Safford, Arizona to Harry Warren and Etta Campbell Boggs.

Bill married Gwen Clark on May 29, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. Gwen passed away March 3, 2010.

During his childhood he lived in Safford, Arizona for 13 years, San Diego, California for 37 years and Hooper, Utah for 26 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as Missionary in the Great Lakes Mission, Counselor in the Bishopric, Financial Clerk, and Sunday school teacher.

Bill enjoyed needlework with plastic canvas, reading, grilling, and making jewelry.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Boggs of Hooper; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, his dog and special friend, Smokee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hooper Park Ward, 5601 South 6100 West, Hooper. Friends may call on Thursday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. prior to services.

Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donation gifts may be made to Myers Roy Mortuary.
