John Paul Becker

John Paul Becker, 83, of Ogden passed away in his home on May 11, 2022. He was born February 3, 1939, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the son of John Victorian Becker and Collette Josephine Petrocelli Becker.

During his childhood, John attended schools in Pennsylvania and graduated from Johnstown High School. Later he received an associate degree from Weber State College and Davis Technology Center.

When he came to Utah, he instantly fell in love with the mountains. There he met Lorene Irene Mora, the love of his life and they were married June 6, 1964, in Ogden. They enjoyed 58 wonderful married years together and their union was blessed with a beloved daughter, Collette, and a cherished son, Scott.

For over 38 years, his professional life was spent driving semi-trucks, transporting freight of all kind. John was very dependable and a hard worker.

At heart, John was and outdoorsman, he truly enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing with family, playing pool and bowling. He loved working in the yard.

John took great pride in his children and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his kind inclusiveness, John opened his home to his nieces and nephews, whom he also loved dearly, and included them all in every family function. He was proud to spend family vacations with Gina Hancock and Sam Mora. Animals also had a special place in his heart.

John is survived by his wife Lori Becker, his daughter Collette (Mitch) Cole, son Scott (Jennifer) Becker, grandchildren, Tiffany (Robin) Finch, Kamas Cole and (Jorge Ferreira), Josh (Shay) Cole, Riley Cole, Shawnee (Kelton) Waite, Shelly (Jessie) Hendrickson, Jon Schenk, Kambri Bennett and (Blake Bartnes), 24 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sister Mary Ann Abel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Harriet, Ralph, George, Rita, Paul, Jane, and Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday May 21, 2022, at Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden with a visitation prior to the service at 12 noon. The services will be livestreamed on Myers Mortuary website.
