John Gunter Obituary

John Russell Gunter (FUZZ) 05-20-1966 to 01-01-2020

John Russell Gunter (Fuzz) passed away on January 1st, 2021 due to health complications (Not COVID-19), He left this world too soon and left a great void in many friends and family’s hearts.

Russell (Fuzz) was born on May 20th, 1966, to John Bruce Gunter and Carma Jean Jones. He was the youngest of three siblings. He grew up loving his parents and his family but experience loss at a young age of his eldest sibling. Russell struggled with the loss of his brother for many years and struggled more during the loss of both of his parents in a short time. He always kept them in his heart and memory.

He attended Clearfield High School and was on the football team his sophomore year. Later he attended Washington High School and became a graduate. He attended the ATC of Ogden where he received training and obtained a career as a blaster.

Fuzz was employed through various companies throughout the years, but he was overjoyed when he was hired for Hill Field as a permanent employee and would no longer be a contracted employee. He obtained many awards and certificates of appreciation for his hard work and contributions throughout the time of his employment.

Fuzz had a friendly outgoing personality; he would tell a story to all he would meet. If you did not know him, you would think he was making it up or thought he was drunk, or even crazy. Yea, he may have been drunk but his stories were true no matter how surreal they sounded.

Fuzz always had a way of making you laugh with just a word but could make you angry just as quick. He grew on you after a few times of meeting him. He may have acted like he didn’t care if you liked him or not, but he did. He just wasn’t the type to show it. He had a good heart and mostly good intentions. This big tough guy with the wild hair, you would not expect him to be a softy underneath it all, but he had more love than most people knew.

Fuzz was always a free spirit who loved good company and living on the edge. He loved Vegas, Wendover, parties, camping, concerts, anything that was just good fun and good friends as well as making new friends.

John Russell Gunter (Fuzz) is survived by his sister Mary Kay (Harold), (Nieces) Debbie Staker, Kimberly Groeger (Edward), Remlle White, (Nephews) Vincent Kay, Michael Malmberg, Pamala Malmberg, (Grand Nieces and Nephews) Anntasia Kay, Shaylee Staker, Tyler Staker, Carma Stoddard, Joe Stoddard, Dakota Malmberg, Michael Malmberg, Tiffani Hoovey, Timmy White, Felix White, Elisia White, (Great Grand Nephews and Niece) Dakoda Kay, Daxton Martinez and Echo Hicks.
