Joy Joleen Sharbutt

Joy was born on May 8, 1963 to Ardith and Robert McCully in Ogden, Utah.  She passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family. She had a brother (Robert McCully) and a sister (Donna Burke).

After graduating from Weber High School on 1981, she married Jeff Mount June 2, 1982 and had two daughters: Tricia and Teri. They later divorced.

Joy married the love of her life Steven Sharbutt on August 2, 1991 in Ogden, Utah. They had a daughter Sara and she became a step-mom.

She worked for the IRS for a year before starting her 30-year career on Hill Air Force Base with the Army Corps of Engineering. There she often deployed to different places to assist with the after math of natural disasters, which she enjoyed.

Joy enjoyed many hobbies and interests, gardening, canning, camping, four wheeling, boating, hunting, horseback riding, snowmobiling and quilting. She loved the outdoors. Most important to her was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children; Dallas (Fawnete) Sharbutt, Tricia Mount (John), Teri Mount, and Sara Sharbutt (Matthew). Her father Robert McCully, brother, Robert McCully, sister, Donna Burke. 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ardith Jarman, husband, Steven Sharbutt, son, Clint Sharbutt, mother-in-law, Maria (Lloyd) Owen and grandson, Korbin Weber.

We would like to give a special thanks to the team of doctors and nurses at McKay Dee Hospital, Myers Mortuary (Roy) and also her co-workers at the Army Corps of Engineers. Especially Doug Bullock (a longtime friend).

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation prior at 10:00 AM at Myers Mortuary 5865 S 1900 W Roy, Utah. Followed by a graveside service at West Weber Cemetery.

A luncheon will be held at her home for the family afterwards.
