In loving memory of Kathleen Edwards Wise.
Kathy Wise, a loving mom, wife, grandma, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 30, 2024. Kathy was born on November 22, 1953, to Elmo and Barbara Edwards. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Elmo Barrington Edwards and Barbara Mecham Edwards. Kathy is survived by Douglas Wise (husband); Annie Gunn (daughter); Dana (Samuel) Vaughn, Douglas Wise Jr., April (Trevor) Goldman, Nicole (Brady) Harris; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley J. Bailey (Gene); and brother, Brian E. Edwards (Heidi).
Kathy proudly served her community for 19 years, working as an administrative assistant for the Davis County Planning Commission. She also worked many years for the Davis County School District. She played a very active role in her faith, serving in various callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including an inner-city mission with her husband, Doug.
Kathy loved her animals with her whole heart and left behind a dog, cat, and grandpuppy. Kathy enjoyed camping, crafting, shopping, spending time with Doug, and participating in group activities with her friends at Mt. Ogden Health & Rehab.
Kathy loved with her whole heart, constantly showering those around her with so much love and light. She was optimistic and never gave up despite the many health issues that surrounded her.
She found friendship and community among the staff and residents of Mt. Ogden, and we would like to express our gratitude to her care team. You loved my mom, supported her, hyped her up, cared for her, befriended her, and took her in as your own. We will never be able to put into words how much your love for my mom has meant to us and to her. You gave her a gift that will forever be cherished. Thank you for all you do and have done.
Pink was her favorite color, so feel free to wear it in her honor.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at LDS Stake Center, 2400 N University Park Blvd, Layton, Utah.
