My beloved father, Kenneth Brown Rothey, 71, gained his heavenly wings and was called home on February 1, 2024. In Ogden, UT. On May 6, 1952, Kenneth was born and raised by Lee Roy and Patricia Rothey and was one of ten children. He was a courageous and resilient man who loved to make people laugh.
Kenneth graduated from Ogden High School, where he met his first love Marla Palmer. Shortly after high school he and Marla were married and had their first and only beautiful child, Kimberly Ann Rothey. They were later divorced.
Kenneth reveled in the freedom to share his humor with all. He was famously known for his comical personality. In the early 70’s Kenneth moved to Las Vegas, NV where he became a butcher at a family-owned and operated business. He later moved back to Utah where he became a Railman at the Union Pacific Railroad.
Kenneth is survived by his lovely daughter, Kimberly Ann Rothey, brother James, sisters Susan, Jill, Patty, and Sherrie, grandsons Kenley and Ronnie, one great-granddaughter Rylee, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Thane, and three sisters Mickey, Shannon, and Lisa, whom we imagine are laughing their celestial socks off with Kenneth.
There will be a Gathering at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to send their respects to the family they are accepting donations for funding for the funeral services, the donation tab is located at the top of of this page.
To honor Kenneth's legacy, we encourage you to share your favorite "Kenny stories" and photos on his memorial page www.myers-mortuary.com. The family would also encourage attendees to come prepared to share stories of him during his Celebration of Life. Let's fill our hearts with the joyous memories that Kenneth has left us. God loves you and so do I.
