Louis George Sorensen

Louis George Sorensen, formerly of Kingman, AZ, was born August 13, 1936, to Thelma Edith Taylor and Lewis Wm Sorensen in Denver, CO.

He spent the later part of his youth with his aunts and uncles, Rulon and Aleen Sorensen and Lincoln and Della Hansen in northern Utah. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, UT.

Lou married Barbara Helen Henry in 1960 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They lived in Logan, Utah where Lou graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Civil Engineering.

They lived in Pocatello and Caldwell, Idaho where they were blessed with two children, Mike and Lisa. From there they moved to Kingman, Arizona where Lou worked for the city of Kingman, and retired in 2001 as Kingman City Manager. After retiring he worked for a friend, Dr. John Lingenfelter, helping him develop several housing projects. In his spare time he loved to golf.

He was active in his church and held many positions throughout the years.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, and his only sister, Donna.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Brigham City, UT, one son, Michael Guy (Teresa) of Greenwood, IN, and one daughter, Lisa Capps of Hales Corner, WI. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

His last wish and concern was for Barbara to be taken care of.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of their friends and church members who have been so supportive through these difficult times.

Private service and burial will be held in Brigham City, UT. A small memorial service will be held in Kingman, AZ at a later date.
