Lowell Ralph Jons, 77, of West Haven UT. Passed away on September 12, 2023 at Ogden Regional Medical Center. Lowell was born November 1, 1945 in Rawlins Wyoming, to Ralph and Alda Jons.
After graduating from the Little Snake River High School, Lowell attended BYU in Provo, UT for a year. Lowell then was off to Alaska where he worked in a crab cannery. Lowell was drafted into the Army headed to Fort Bliss in preparation for Vietnam. When Lowell returned from Vietnam he met and married his sweetheart Joy Lee Christensen in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity on May 1, 1969.
Then off to Alaska for two years. After they left Alaska, Lowell went to school at SUU in Cedar City, UT then Utah State in Logan, UT. Lowell worked for 31 years for the Double M Ranch in Stanfield, Oregon as a foreman. Where Lowell and Joy raised their five children. Lowell Loved the outdoors. He loved hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, Braiding reins\necklaces, county fairs, Pendleton Round Up, the Cowboy channel and meeting new people.
Lowell has a strong love of Country, Family, and his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lowell served as a Bishop in the Hermiston 3rd Ward for 5 years.
Lowell is survived by his wife Joy Lee. His five children- Christy (Robert) Haddock, Brent (Tana) Jons, William Jons, Jeffrey (April) Jons, Charlotte (Kevin) Starkey, 11 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren; Siblings-Jean, Oleta, Marie, Cristine and Bill.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Alda Jons, Brother Richard (Dick) Jons.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the West Haven Ward Chapel 3628 S 2700 W, West Haven, Utah at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held prior 9:30 -10:30 AM.
