Margaret Willis Foy

Ogden - Margaret Willis Foy passed away May 28, 2015. She was born October 11, 1934 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Florence (Storey) and Joseph Cheney Willis. She graduated from North Rich High School and was awarded a scholarship to further pursue her education at Utah State University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She met Rey L Foy on a blind date; they were later married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 2, 1959.

Margaret was the 1st Silver Gleaner in her Laketown Ward; she later received the Golden GleanerAward. She served in various ward and stake callings. She especially liked working in the Primary during the 100th year celebration. She also served in the Relief Society as compassionate service leader, in the Young Women's and enjoyed singing in the ward choir.

She began her professional career as an aide at Plain City Elementary and Bates Elementary. She went on to teach second grade at North Ogden Elementary where she retired after 37 years. Margaret enjoyed influencing the lives of many and loved to visit with her former students.

She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and loved creating a welcoming home for her family and friends. She had many outlets of creativity including; needle point, crocheting, poetry, scrapbooking and playing the piano. Margaret was renowned for her funeral potatoes, plum bread and homemade rolls. She always made sure the grandchildren had a twinkie and a can of apple juice when they left her home.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rey L; children, J. Edward (Amy), Steven C. (Charlotte) and Karen (Shayne) Sheets; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Wayne Storey Willis and Roland Cheney (Linda) Willis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Joyce Willis.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Viewings will be held at Myers Mortuary on Thursday, June 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
