Margie Christensen Obituary

Margie Christensen passed away on the morning of November 22nd, 2021 at her home in West Point, Utah at the age of 88, among loving family members.

Margie lived a long, happy, eventful life, beginning in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 29th, 1933, born to Alexander and Lula Pehrson. She lost her mother early in her life due to health problems and grew up with her father and brothers, Max, Darrell, Joe and Don. She also had other siblings after her father remarried, Henry, Orbit, Betty, Carol, Connie and Wally.

Margie met the man who swept her off her feet, George "Bob" Christensen, and they were married March 2nd, 1951 just before Bob was drafted into the Army. She lived with Bob in California while he was in the Army and there they started a wonderful family. After moving back to Utah, they built a house in Kanesville, Utah and raised their 8 children there. They were then sealed in the L.D.S. Temple on Sept. 23rd, 1958 to make their family eternal. Margie began to have many fun adventures with each of her children, all with their own stories of mom to tell, all ending with love, and maybe cookies, pie or a parker house roll. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and the occasional slip-n-slide. All of her children were instilled with her love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Margie served faithfully in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, always giving her love to those she served. Her life was full of thoughtless service to all who needed it, handed out with a smile. She has a great love of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

She worked many hours as a custodian for the Church, and arguably had the cleanest building anywhere. Spending countless hours getting every fingerprint, every speck of dust and piece of paper to make sure the House of the Lord was ready for Sunday. Her building was always ready for the Savior.

Margie had many achievements in her life; however, she would tell you proudly, her family is her greatest achievement! The list of missionaries from Margie and Bob currently stands at 33 and continues to grow. Subsequently, Margie's love of the gospel has traveled to all corners of the globe.

She and Bob served a local mission in the L.D.S. Church cannery in Ogden, Utah.

Margie is survived by her 8 children and their spouses; Mike (Lori), Ron (Shari), Corey (Elaine), Gayle (Roger) Barth, Troy (Sharalin), Chris (Jennifer), Ann (Brian) Nixon, and Eric (Emily). She has 31 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

The Christensen family would like to thank lnspiration Hospice Care, especially Jayme and Tammy for their fantastic, loving care. We would also like to lovingly thank Ann Nixon and her family for the love and care given to mom in their home.

ln lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humanitarian Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and help Margie's life of service and love of her fellow man continue.
