Maria Christina Castellano

OGDEN - Maria Christina Castellano, 87, died February 14, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. Maria was born April 13, 1920 in Naples, Italy the daughter of Alfredo Donadio and Gulia Ales Donadio. The family moved to Rome when she was an infant, she grew up and went to school in Rome.

She married Alfred P. Castellano in Rome on Nov. 6, 1945; they immigrated to the U.S. in 1946. She lived in Brooklyn N.Y. for 1 year and moved to Ogden, Utah July of 1947. She earned her U.S. citizenship in the spring of 1963.
She returned to Italy to visit on several occasions.

Maria worked for Bon Marche for 10 years and ZCMI for 10 years, where she was the Top Seller for “Ladies Ready to Wear”, she retired from ZCMI.

She loved to cook, loved opera and her cats, especially Samantha and clothes.

Maria was a member of the Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred; and her parents. She is survived by her children: Reece S. Castellano, Eugene Castellano (Debra), John Castellano (Catherine) and Liana Castellano Self (Bill); two grandchildren; siblings, Giovanna Maw of Utah, Liana Giuliani and Gabriella May of Rome, Italy.

Cremation under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Ogden.
