Maria Eutemia (Apodaca) Quire

Maria Eutemia Quire passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born January 16, 1937 in Gallup, New Mexico to Lino and Monica Apodaca. The family moved to Corinne, Utah in 1948, this is where she grew up, followed by more sisters and brothers.

Maria married Ambrose W. Quire on January 18, 1963, together they had daughter Tina and son Ernest.

She had many jobs before finding her passion working at Pioneer Nursing Home in 1978.  Maria enjoyed her job and the people there.  She worked for almost 30 years until her health made her take early retirement.  This was not something she was ready for.  She filled her days with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished with all her heart.  Also, small projects around the house tinkering with this and that made her happy.  Maria was always on the go despite her physical limitations.  She had a big heart and will be greatly missed by her family. 

Maria is survived by her children: Tina (Robert) Lewis, Brigham City; Ernest (Ladawn) Quire, Brigham City; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, one grandson and one granddaughter.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St Henry’s Catholic Church, 380 S. 200 E., Brigham City, UT.

Family and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT.  Rosary services will follow at 7:00 pm.
