Marion Melville Cunningham Reid

OGDEN – Marion Melville Cunningham Reid, 86, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at The
Gardens Assisted Living of causes incident to age.

She was born February 20, 1918 in Motherwell, Scotland, a daughter of William and Annie Craig Cunningham.

She married Thomas McDonald Drummond Reid on August 21, 1942 in Motherwell, Scotland at St. Mary’s Parish. They moved to the United States on January 13, 1947 and resided in Ogden. Tom died January 3, 1980. They had one son, George MacDonald Reid. He was an internationally known actor-model and died on September 27, 1993.

Marion was a bus conductress in Glasgow during World War II and then worked at Swift and Company and Catalina Sewing Company in Ogden for many years.

She was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ogden and was a faithful member.

Marion made friends wherever she went and enjoyed the many years that she lived at Union Gardens. She enjoyed shopping and stopping to eat her favorite fish and chips.

She is survived by one grandson, Aaron Alexander Reid of Chenoa, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Scotland and a niece and many cousins and family members locally.

Marion loved and appreciated her many friends and her church family. She wanted to thank her special friend and doctor, Dr. Zega, and the staff at The Gardens Assisted Living for all their love and concern.
