Michael Della Lucia Obituary

Michael (Mike) Joseph Della Lucia passed away in his home September 14, 2021 at the age of 63 battling complications of cancer.  Although he is gone, his legacy lives on through his posterity whom he supported and found great joy.

Mike was born on March 21, 1958, the son of Marcia Carolyn Della Lucia and Charles Della Lucia in the old St. Benedicts Hospital.  Mike was raised in West Haven, Utah with his siblings; Kevin Lewis Della Lucia, Guy Charles Della Lucia, and Ann Marie Della Lucia.

As a child Mike attended Wilson School, Pioneer School, Wahlquist, and Weber high School.  In his youth he worked for a short time as a bricklayer/hod tender, and later at Chromalox, before beginning his employment at Utility Trailer, where he worked for over 30 years. Throughout the years Mike worked tirelessly to support his family

Mike married his eternal companion, Lisa Crittenden on June 17, 1983. Their courtship began at Holley’s drive in, and resulted in an LDS temple marriage on June 17, 1983. The two settled in Roy and welcomed 3 children Clint, Shannon and Megan. They then later moved to Hooper.

Mike was well known for is incredible lawn.  He enjoyed the Serenity of yard work, which was obvious to all those he visited his home.  He brought smiles and excitement to his grandchildren whenever he gave them the opportunity to sit in his 1979 Ford f150 ½ ton short bed pick up. He enjoyed taking pride in his truck and spent the weekends detailing it, which undoubtedly resulted in envious stares.  However, these temporal concerns were minimal in comparison to the joy he felt while spending time with his family.  He relished sleep overs with the grandkids, Sunday breakfast, and spending time laughing at America's funniest home videos on Sunday.  Mike was a man of few words, but also man of great emotion.  He would defend his family at all costs and wanted nothing but happiness for all of those who he was close to.  He was faithful in Christ until the end, and reminded us he leaves behind to walk in faith and ask the Lord to “teach me, guide me, walk beside me.”

Mike is survived by his wife Lisa; his three children, Clint (Ashleigh) Della Lucia, Shannon (Chase) Bailey, and Megan Della Lucia; five beautiful grandchildren; his mother Carolyn and his siblings.

Mike is reunited with his father Charles and his in-laws; Carroll and Alice Crittenden.

Special thanks to Shannon, his daughter, for her loving care.
