Michael Eugene Miller returned to his Heavenly home and loved ones there on July 4, 2018 after a long courageous battle with brain tumors. Disabled for the last 10 years of his life, he was an amazing patient and uncomplaining and a man of integrity. He has great faith in our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ and has always relied upon them. And believes with gratitude in Their marvelous plan for all of us.
Michael was born January 29, 1954 in Burbank, CA to loving parents, Carroll Eugene and Marcene Gessell Miller. His father tragically died leaving a young family behind. Marcene married Glenn Moutray who stepped into help raise Mike and his sister Suzanne.
Michael grew up and attended school in North Las Vegas, NV, where he had many friends. He married his high school sweetheart, Patrice Frehner in the St. George Temple on June 16, 1972. They have been a wonderful match, working and playing side by side and caring for one another, their seven children and extended family. Mike always wanted a large family and got his wish.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was willing to serve wherever needed.
He was a teacher, High councilor and member of Bishoprics but especially found enjoyment serving along side the young men and leaders in our ward and stake.
Michael was a CPA, received his accounting degree from B.Y.U. and worked in health care finance. He was a staff accountant until becoming controller at Dixie Medical Center in St. George along with other IHC facilities. He worked as Senior Vice President of finance for a large doctors group in Georgia and also controller at Brigham City Community Hospital for a time before starting his own CPA practice and physician billing service. Financial Management and Design is expertly owned and managed today by his brother-in-law Tracy Frehner and loyal employees.
Michael is beloved and will be dearly missed by his wife Patrice and children: Christopher (Marlyse) Miller; Andrew (Julianne) Miller; Melissa (Ryan) Spelts; Aaron (Jaquelyn) Miller; Lyndsie (Tyson) Kunz; Jessica (Damon) Sheranian; Chelsea (Christopher) Schulze; and almost 32 grandchildren. His mother Marcene Moutray; sister Suzanne Ford and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Miller, baby sister Ricki and step-father Glenn Moutray.
We express our gratitude to family, friends, doctors, nurses and aides for your kind service to us through the years.
