Norma McPhie was born on November 3, 1933, in Ogden, Utah, to Charles Einar and Catharine Elizabeth Pueschel Martinson. Our compassionate, generous, loving, and resilient mother, passed away on May 13, 2023. Throughout her 89 years of life, Norma left an indelible mark on the hearts and lives of those she touched. With her warm smile and kind spirit, she was a pillar of strength and support to her family and friends.
As a dedicated wife to her late husband, Robert McPhie, whom she married on January 12, 1963, Norma always put her loved ones first. She was a devoted homemaker and a hardworking woman, contributing to various businesses such as HAFB, Continental Bakery, Utah Tailoring Mills, and Nutrition Center. A woman of faith, Norma served as a Ministering Sister and Compassionate Service leader, she found great joy in being kind and helpful to others. She lovingly and faithfully did all her family genealogy, which they are grateful for. Her unwavering love and support were felt not only by her family, but also by the countless individuals who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Norma is survived by her loving children, Cathy (Mike) Van Leeuwen, Sandy (Rex) Stuart and Philip (Jen) Klebenstein, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, Steven Martinson and other cherished family members.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Darrel Martinson, sister Brigetta Yockey, daughter June Alva, and grandson Mark Alva.
The family extends their gratitude to the Quail Meadows Care Givers for their care of Norma for the last 3 years.

The funeral service will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, 3:00 p.m. , with viewings Friday, May 19, 2023, 6-8 pm, and prior to services 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Lorin Farr 4th Ward, 770 15th Street, Ogden, Utah. Interment at Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
