“Well I’ve really done it now. I have died”.
Patricia Hansen Hunt passed away Wednesday Mar. 27, 2019, at her assisted living center, The Villas at Baer Creek in Kaysville, Utah.
Our mother was born May 10, 1932, in San Bernardino, California. The daughter of Leonard and Bernice Cheshire. She met and had a beautiful courtship in San Francisco with the love of her life, Harry Hansen. They were married July 6, 1954 in the Logan LDS temple. Their beautiful union lasted 39 years until his passing in 1993. She then married dad’s best friend Jay Hunt in November 1994 until his passing in April 2010.
Pat worked for the LDS seminary program as the secretary at Roy High School for 25 years. She met many wonderful and long lasting friends during this time. She had an open door policy and there were many that sought her wise council. She said it was never a job to her because she loved and adored the youth going through the seminary program so much. However, the job she always said she loved the most was being a Mother.
She had many talents which she shared with all. Her love of writing, poetry, music and homemaking skills were just a few of her gifts. One of her greatest talents was the ability to listen with grace and offer her Christ like love to all who were privileged to know her. Her favorite hobby was traveling with Harry and she loved it when they stopped for a round of golf. A spontaneous ride in the car, was also one of her favorites.
She was a member of the LDS church and held many callings throughout her life. Her greatest impact was with the youth and that of teacher.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Mark Walkingshaw, her two sons and four daughters. Mrs. Roger (Merilee) Haga, Mrs. Max (Lori) Shellabarger, Linda Cottle, Mrs. Mark Jones (Paula Hansen), Scott (Shelly) Hansen, and Mark (Jean) Hansen. She is also survived by 23 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry, and Jay. One son, Harry L. Hansen, her granddaughter, Alicia Ann Haga, son in- laws, Kyle C. Okey, and Thayne D. Hansen, as well as many family members and cherished friends who have been anxiously awaiting her return.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the LDS chapel at 900 So. Main, Kaysville, Ut. 84037. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy on Monday April 1, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM or at the church on Tuesday prior to services from 9:30AM to 10:30AM.
