Obituary

Phyllis Jensen Butler Swenson

Passed away May 28th , she was born at home to Joseph M. Jensen and Ethel J. Chamberlain. She was the oldest of four sisters and one brother. Her father was an Orchardist and Phyllis helped him in the orchard, and with the cows and chickens. She was also a second mother to her siblings. She played the piano and organ for many services and self enjoyment. She loved to garden, the out of doors and traveling.

After graduating from Weber High she worked for Intermountain Knitting as a seamstress and model. She met her husband, Wayne S. Butler there. They married on Oct. 7th 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three children: Jay W. (Kay) Butler, David C. (Camille) Butler and Lynnette Butler (William E.) Fritz.

Phyllis held many church positions. She began doing Genealogy in the late 40’s and continued through-out her lifetime. She had over 3500 names gathered in her pedigree. Phyllis was the editor for the Chamberlain-Moore Journal for fifteen years. She served as an officer for the Blaisdell Nat’l Association for twenty years.

Wayne pre-deceased her and after two years she married Richard Swenson , both at age 92.

Phyllis was loved by all. She leaves behind her spouse, children, 15 grand-children and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the North Ogden 17th Ward, 386 E. Elberta Dr. in North Ogden, UT. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 2nd at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery.
