Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Priscilla Fay Simmons 84, passed away on March 21, 2011 after a brief illness, at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful. Priscilla was born April 20, 1926 to Joseph and Bernice Hanks in Salem, Utah. Priscilla grew up in Salem, and attended Spanish Fork High School. She married Raphael B. Simmons on January 10, 1951. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on Feb. 15, 1964.

She worked for the phone company for many years and also at HAFB. She had a great love for sewing, which included making quilts for new mothers, crocheting afghans, and knitting house slippers. She loved and cared about people. She loved to dance and travel with her-husband in her later years. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life.

She is survived by daughters, Shirlene (Maurice) Teigen, Sheila Simmons; and three grandchildren, Scott (Winnie) Teigen, Benjamin Teigen, and Kortney Teigen; as well as one great-granddaughter, Taylor Fay Teigen. She is also survived by Joseph J. Hanks, Beverly Bearnson, and Dwight Hanks.

A special thank you to Dr. Val Hansen for many years of great care, and to the great staff at Lakeview Hospital where a special shout out goes to Lisa, Karla, Kerrie, Kristan, Travis, Liz, and the singing nurse, the ICU nurses, CNS Hospice Services, and a big thanks to Dr. Hammond, Dr. Stigge, and Dr. Anding; much love to all.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 11 a.m, at the LDS Ward Chapel, 331 South 50 West, Kaysville, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 25 from 6 pm-8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield Rd, Layton, UT and prior to the services at the church from 9:45 – 10:45.
