Rachel Hubler Obituary
Rachel Anne Hubler of Washington Terrace Utah left this life on June 7, 2023. For 40 years she blessed the lives of those fortunate to know her. The theme of her life was to comfort anyone who needed comfort, and this was not limited to humans. She loved all creatures, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, bunnies, and hamsters. While her husband grew up on a ranch, Rachel helped him change from “no dogs in the house” to “can we get another basset hound, and it’s fine if she sleeps on the bed with us.”
She adored her family, especially those cousins, nieces, and nephews whose lives she brightened with gifts, games, and pickleball classes. She had more hobbies than most, and these included fly fishing, crafting, repairing everything in the house at least once, camping, succulents, and finding fossils and rocks. Her career left an impact on so many people including medical patients, students, and the coworkers blessed enough to hear her laughter and see her kind smile. Those in the know called her one of the meatballs.
She worked constantly to build core memories with her family. This included attending sporting events, traveling across the world, finding a quiet spot in the Uintas to camp, and outfishing Dan more times than he would like to admit.
Rachel was preceded in death by her Grandparents Bill & Lavora Burton and Don & Dorothy Medell.
Rachel is survived by her husband Daniel, birth daughter, Jessica Hirschi, parents William and Patricia Medell of Roy, siblings Dan (Jennifer) Medell of Roy, Mike (Janelle) Medell of Layton, Jim (Holly) Medell of Beaverton, Oregon, and Sarah (Jeremy) Jex of Grantsville.
Her legacy of kindness, empathy, and love will live on with the many people she helped. We are all better for having known Rachel.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, June 14 at 11am at the Washington Terrace 2nd Ward building, 4855 S 300 W Washington Terrace, UT 84405
Internment will take place with immediate family at the Roy City Cemetery at 5200 S 2300 W, Roy Utah, 84067
