Richard E. Beus Jr. passed away suddenly on February 11, 2020. He was born on July 24, 1953, the oldest of 3 children, in Ogden, UT to Barbara Joyce Henstra and Richard Elvin Beus Sr. He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber/Morgan Applied Technology College in welding, plumbing and electrical. He worked for Pillsbury for 19 years and for Cargill for 16 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Richard married Mary Kay Thompson on August 6, 1976 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Their marriage lasted 33 years before parting as friends.
There was nothing he loved more than playing with his grandkids. They were the light of his life. He could usually be found playing and laughing with them. From a young age he taught his 3 boys to hunt and fish, nurturing their love of the outdoors and the beauty of nature. He loved taking his family to the Uintah mountains, the Oregon Coast, and enjoyed camping at the sand dunes, racing dirt bikes and hill climbing. He taught by example how to be a hard worker and will always be remembered as the man who could fix anything. Richard had a heart of pure gold and would literally give you the shirt off his back. He has always loved his animals deeply and will be missed by Ace & Ozzy.
Richard is survived by his children Rich (Holli) Beus, Justin (Amber) Beus and Brian (Bitty) Beus. He loved his 13 grandchildren: Landon, Maesy, Beckett, Adley, Boston, Sayler, Gracie, Hayden, Piper, Solace, Jarom, Deegan & 1 "on the way". He is also survived by his brother Ken (Melanie) Beus and sister Babette (Dan) Stagge. He was preceded in death by his parents.
As a celebration of life, Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Burch Creek 6th Ward, 3680 Eccles Avenue. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10 to 10:40 a.m. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd.
