Ronald Kendell Obituary

Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ronald L. Kendell, returned to be with his loved ones on the other side of the veil on June 6, 2022. He was born September 24, 1934 in South Weber, Utah to Lawrence Job Kendell and Mabel Garner Kendell. He served a mission in the Great Lakes mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He honorably served in the Army Reserves for 5 years.

 

Ronald was married to Colleen Combe and their marriage was blessed with 5 children; they were later divorced. He married Lucille Frost in Roosevelt on November 19, 1988, she preceded him in death in 2016.

 

He owned a Chevron Station and worked at Sears. He then owned his own fencing business, he also sold and built log homes in Roosevelt. He later retired from IFA after over 30 years at the age 82.

 

He loved sports and played fast pitch softball. He was an avid Weber State fan and enjoyed season tickets for basketball and football with his best friend Mike Morrelli. He has been a long-time umpire and referee. He was also a fan of the rodeo, loved horse pack trips and the outdoors.

 

He served in many church callings. He served for many years as a scout master. He especially loved and mentored young men whose lives were changed through scouting and wood badge. He served as a Stake Young Men’s President and 2nd Counselor in a Branch Presidency.

 

Ronald is survived by his children Larry (Shauna) Kendell, Dena (Hoyt, deceased) Allred, Ron (Becky) Kendell, Debbie (John) Erickson, Darla (Richard) Smith, stepchildren Shane (Lisa) Frost and Marilyn (Jesse) Blanchard; 29 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. And his siblings, Leora Castell, Linda (Glen) Poll, Jean (Alan) Condie and Lorrie Kendell.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille; parents; sister Carol Leseberg, brother Melvin Kendell, son-in-law Hoyt Allred, and brother-in-law Marlin Castell.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. A viewing will be held prior from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
