Obituary

Ronda Flygare Shurtliff
November 21, 1955 – January 6, 2015
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…"On January 6, 2015 at 9:33 pm surrounded by her loving family, our cute wife, mom and sister, Ronda F. Shurtliff finished her marathon of life and returned to her Heavenly Father.
Ronda was born on November 21, 1955 in Fort Ord, California to Ronald and Lugene Flygare. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1974. She attended Weber State College and enjoyed being in the Tau Theta Nu sorority. While working at Kar Kwik, Ronda met and fell in love with her husband Tom Shurtliff. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 6, 1976 and were sealed for time and all eternity. Ronda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings, her favorite was serving in the Young Women's. Ronda loved the Ogden temple and went as often as she could to perform initiatory work.
Ronda was always doing something. ALWAYS. She loved serving her family and others. Throughout her life, Ronda enjoyed going on camping trips with her family and very close friends. She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies and salsa. After giving her heart and soul to raising her daughters, Ronda finally had time for some hobbies of her own. With her sole sister and best friend Ruth at her side, Ronda found her love of hiking, quilting and running. They had many adventures together. With the diagnosis of breast cancer, Ronda became an inspiration to those around her as she took her love of running and turned it into her mission on earth to prove she was indestructible.
Ronda leaves behind her amazing and loving husband, Tom, her biggest fan. Also, her 3 loving daughters Sarah (Rustin) Nielsen; Coalville, UT, Kellie (Micky) Connell; West Haven, UT and Steph Shurtliff; Clinton, UT. Her adored 6 grandchildren: Kendrick, Mickell, Sariah, Kyson, Kempton and Lucy Ronda. Her sister Ruth (Leigh) Huggins; Layton, UT. She also has many nieces and nephews who loved her deeply.
Welcoming her in heaven were her parents, her in-laws, a brother- in- law Rodney and her sweet niece Alisha.
