Russell Madsen Stock

Russell Madsen Stock “Pete” passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2022. Russ was born on September 6, 1942, in Ogden, Utah. The son of LaVerne Gentry and Orville Edwin Stock. He married Geniel Cutler, in March 1966. Together they had two children: Ryan and Stacie. They later divorced. He married his sweetheart, Janet Mickelson, on May 12, 1978, in the Ogden LDS Temple and added her 4 children to the family: Christine, Mark, Corey, and Jennifer. Together they had a daughter: Katrina.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was a faithful Ward Clerk for many years. He was also a dedicated Home Teacher and enjoyed baking and sharing his treats with many neighbors and friends.

Russ served in the National Guard Reserves.

He worked many different occupations throughout his life including as a baker for Wonderbread. Russ also drove truck for Bird Trucking, Plant Plant Trucking and retired after about 30 years from the Metro Group Trucking.

Russ enjoyed square dancing, baking, working in the yard, and road trips. He loved visiting and laughing with his family and friends. His advice will be dearly missed by many.

Although Russ may have been a little rough around the edges, he was always dependable and loved his children and grandchildren.

He’s survived by his children: Christine (Mitchell deceased) Eyre, Corey (Julie) Butler, Jennifer Butler, Katrina (Brian) Muhlestein, Ryan Stock, and Stacie (Todd) Griffitts; 35 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; siblings: Valon (Mary Lou deceased) Stock, Sherman (Colleen) Stock, Samuel (Christina) Stock, Margaret (Fred) Large; brothers-in-law: Bob Wilson and Ron Nye.

Russ is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Janet; son: Mark Butler; sisters: Suzanne Wilson and Marlene Nye; grandchildren: Samuel Butler and Jacob Butler.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Corinne LDS Church, 2335 North 4000 West, Corinne, Utah. Viewings will be held the night before on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah, and Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Corinne Church. Interment will be in the Corinne Cemetery.
