Our cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Sandra “Sandi” Jo Shupe Jacobson, was called home on July 3, 2022. She was born March 8, 1950, the 3rd of 9 children born to Robert and Ruby Shupe. She graduated from Monrovia High in 1968 and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduation. She was a civilian employee working for the U.S. Army when she met the love of her life, Robert Jacobson. It was a romance for the ages. They were married in Tacoma, Washington on Dec. 8, 1973. They were blessed with 6 children. In 1980 Robert, Sandi, and Stacee joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Robert, Sandi, and their three young children were sealed together one year later in the Seattle Temple.
Sandi served in many church callings in the Relief Society, Primary, Library, and especially loved being the editor of the ward newsletter. She always showed kindness and love in her church service and enjoyed going the extra mile.
Sandi was incredibly supportive of all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. Her family, church, and service were always Sandi’s highest priority. She especially loved new babies and often sent personalized hand made blankets celebrating their birth. Sandi had a caring, loving, and Christ-like nature. She tenderly cared for her father-in-law, Phillip Jacobson, until his death.
Sandi is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Jacobson; her children, Stacee (Gary) Hunsaker, Cindee (Nathan) DeWitt, Jason (Alexis), Michael (Lyan), Cassidy (Jordan) Steinke; sisters, Norma (Chris) Waters, Roberta Avila, and Mari Thomas; 17 grandchildren, Alex (Joey), Tyler, Brian, Jaden, Maddux, Taylor, Brayden, Sandra Allison, Paul, Ben, Ryan, Piper, Thomas, Peter, Cayde, Gwendolyn, and Winter; and 2 great grandchildren, Makiah and Beckham. She was preceded in death by a son, Peter and she is now enjoying a joyous reunion with her parents, son, and siblings.
Funeral services for Sandi will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Foothill Trails Ward, 1000 Suncrest Drive, Ogden, UT with a viewing prior to services from 9:40-10:40 am with Bishop Jace Christiansen officiating.
