Sharon Griggs Obituary

Sharon Pauline Stewart Fryer Griggs

August 9, 1937 – November 7, 2023

Sharon Griggs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023. She was the only child born to Earl and Lola Nelson Stewart on August 9, 1937 in Brigham City Utah and had many cousins that were like siblings to her. She attended Box Elder High School.

She married Robert Arnold Fryer in Brigham City, Utah on July 14, 1956, and he preceded her in death. She later married William Lawrence Griggs in Elko, Nevada on January 12, 1970 and they shared 49 wonderful years together.

She worked as a court clerk at the First District Court in Brigham City Utah. In her earlier life she worked for Sew What and Pioneer Care Center in Brigham City, Utah.

She participated in The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Pinochle Club(s), Red Hat Society Club, Spade and Hope Garden Club and various civic involvement within her community.

Sharon was a member of the Brigham City 7th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held several callings through out her lifetime such as Relief Society teacher, Primary teacher and Visiting teacher. Sharon had a strong faith of the gospel and developed many strong friendships within her ward. She loved to serve and help others.

Sharon had many hobbies and talents; she was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games, oil painting, toll painting, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, ceramics, basket weaving and crafts of all kinds. Her talents were many and admired by her friends and family.

She is survived by her children: Dale (Shelly) Fryer, Marcia (Cordova) Fryer, Denise (Mark) Wilcox, 8 grandchildren, Kinsey, Joshua, Jordan, Logan, Tia, Zac, Kylee and Connor, 8 great grandchildren, cats Kit-kat and CC, and niece Kaylynn Peterson. She was preceded in death by both her husbands, her oldest son, Wade Fryer, and son-in-law Gene Cordova.

Sharon loved her family fiercely and taught them many lessons, carving the way for them to live their lives with love and compassion for others.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Saundra Buys and her staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for 19 years of continued extraordinary care and Rocky Mountain Hospice – Maddie and Wendy, for the love and compassion given to Sharon and her family.
