Sharon Schultz Obituary

Sharon Young Schultz, 73, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. On the previous Monday, she was diagnosed with stage IV Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, but passed away before treatments were to begin.

Sharon was born on April 20, 1949, in Elko Nevada, to Phyllis and William A. Young.  Later the family moved to West Corinne, Utah, where she spent her adolescence, teenage years and much of her early adult life. In 1968 she married her sweetheart, Charles F. Schultz and became a devoted wife and mother to their four children. Eventually they settled in Brigham City, Utah, where she spent the remainder of her life. Before retiring, she worked many years assisting Dr. Clark Anderson, DDS, at Edge Orthodontics.

She positively loved her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and most recently cherished the opportunity she had to serve as a temple worker in the Brigham City temple. She was always a friendly face and willing to help those around her, and dedicated her life to serving others, especially her husband, children and grandchildren. Although she experienced many trials in her life, she was a great example of staying positive, overcoming adversity and exemplified her Christ-like ability to forgive others.

Sharon loved being with her family and took any opportunity to do so. She was an avid reader and had a hard time waiting for the newest James Patterson book to be released.  She loved watching movies on the Hallmark and Lifetime channels and watching true crime television series. She kept a beautiful home, deeply loved her companion dogs, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Sharon was a superb cook and desired to feed anyone who entered her home. She will be deeply missed, and her abrupt passing has left an empty hole in the lives of many. We will look forward to our reunion in heaven someday.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, her four children, Chad (Kristin) Schultz, Shon (Stacie) Schultz, Heidi (Burke) Whitlock, Cody (Ashley) Schultz, her 14 grandchildren, her sister Becky Nelson, brother Thell (Kay) Young, sister-in-law Gayda Sneddon and countless nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas Sneddon and daughter-in-law, Melissa (Shon) Schultz.
