Obituary

Steven Gail Ruddell

Ogden – Steve was born Nov. 9, 1967 the beloved son of Gail and Mary Carson Ruddell. He was welcomed by his sister Wendy (deceased). He returned home to his loving Savior on Oct. 26, 2014 from a burst brain aneurysm.

Steve graduated from Ben Lomond High School where he played football. He loved being a Scot. The friendships and experiences he made there lasted throughout his life.

He married Misty Smith in Lake Tahoe, Calif. This union gave him the most beloved treasure of his life, his daughter Danica. Steve and Misty were later divorced.

Steve worked at Utility Trailer. He drove the yard dawg and worked in the foam room. After he had brain surgery for a brain aneurysm he left Utility but he never left the guys there. He was always so happy to see and visit with them. The best friend he made in the world was Rick. They helped each other in good times and rough times. He could not have had a better friend. He was the brother he never had. Thank you with all my heart.

Steve loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He was always the last one to leave the campfire.

When Steve's father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he moved back home with us to take care of his Dad. He had tremendous love, admiration and respect for him. Gail passed in June of 2011. Steve stayed on with his Mom to help her get through the rough times.

Steve's constant companion for eight years was his chocolate Lab "King". What a fun loving and loyal buddy he was. To his grandpa he was the "Kingster"; to his grandma he was "Puppy". He was a wonderful addition to our family. We lost him to cancer in 2013. It was Steve's wish to have King's ashes interred with him; so shall it be.

Steve's love of tall trucks is legendary. He had three through the years. He enjoyed lifting, chroming and polishing them up.

Surviving Steve are his mother; adored daughter Danica (7); aunts, uncles, cousins and his nephews, Cameron, John and Malcolm Golding and his many friends. Preceding him was his Dad, sister, Wendy Golding, who died in 1995 in a tragic car wreck and his grandparents.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 8th at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. next to his father and sister.

This will be a celebration of Steve's life so dress casual and please bring a memory to share.

Special thanks to Myers Ogden Mortuary, Cameron Golding, Mona and Dave Stratton, Michelle and Jerry Collins, Tracy Nunn and all of those wonderful people who have reached out to comfort and help me. I am blessed to have them.
