Huntsville – Our loving son, husband, father, brother and friend passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 peacefully at his home in Huntsville. Steven was born June 13, 1956 to Andrew Jackson and Helen Dorothy Shupe. Steven graduated from Weber High School in 1974. On April 30, 1976 he married the love of his life Joni Ann Leonardi (Bubba-Dee) in Saint Mary's Catholic Church and was happily married for 35 years.

Steven was employed as the Huntsville Shed Supervisor for the Utah Department of Transportation. He also worked for Keep on Trucking, Inc. and Jack B. Parsons earlier in his career.

Steven loved spending time with his family sharing with them the things he loved the most such as camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, standing fence for Rafter S Ranch, raising sheep, and pretty much anything that involved the outdoors. Along with his many passions, he always enjoyed opening the road over Monte Cristo and plowing the road to Powder Mountain. Steven's five grandchildren, Wyatt, Aspen, Maggie, Jadie, and Tylee Jo, whom he spoiled as often as he could, were one of his greatest entertainments. Steven was also an excellent gardener. He spent a lot of time and care growing tasty crops such as corn, squash, and tomatoes.

Steven is survived by his wife, Joni; sons, Clayton Lee (Laura), Craig Steven (Leslie); daughter, Teri Jean (Brody) Smith; his mother, Helen Shupe; five grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Betty), Paul, Bill (Lois), Larry (Christine); brothers-in-law, Louis Dan (Vickie) Leonardi, Rex (Angela) Leonardi and Melvin Clarke.

He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Jack Shupe; sisters, Joan Clarke and Sandra Beck; father-in-law, Louis Leonardi and sister-in-law, Debbie Shupe.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Harold Johnson and his staff, also to the Ogden Regional staff and IMC Unit.
