Virginia Marie Mooney was born on January 18, 1941 in Chicago, IL to James Albert Harrison and Mildred (Johnson) Harrison. She was married to Eugene C. Mooney. Virginia was called to eternal rest on April 11, 2021 after a valiant three-year battle with ALS.
Virginia was a class of 1959 graduate of Rich Township High School in Park Forest, IL. She also attended Davis Vocational Center. She was often seen as a friendly, outgoing, and independent woman who held a wealth of wisdom gained through many life experiences. Virginia enjoyed listening to Hawaiian and County Western music throughout the day, along with watching her favorite movies. In her youth she was enrolled in the Ray Gerlikk Music Unlimited School where she learned to play the accordion. In her spare time, she could be found crocheting, quilting, working on ceramics and attending Zumba classes.
Virginia was a diligent worker and retired with 29 years of service as an IT Specialist for DECC at Hill Airforce Base, Utah where she was recognized for Outstanding Service.
Virginia leaves to cherish her precious memories, her son, Michael Paul Marion; her daughter, Kimberly Rae (Marion) Price; her son, Donald James Marion; sister, Georgene (Harrison) Bradford; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene "Gene" Mooney; her sister, Judy (Harrison) Grove; her parents, James and Mildred Harrison; her nephew, Norman Bradford; and her grandson, Nathan Marion.
