SUNSET – Warren Nelson Shurtleff, 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 30, 2004.

He was born September 5, 1923 in Ogden to Haskell and Glenna Shurtleff.

Warren married his “Sweet Angel” Leda June Dunn on October 12, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. June preceded him in death on June 15, 2003.

Warren was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as Bishop on two separate occasions and in many other church callings.

Warren loved his country and was very patriotic, he served his country in WWII as a tank commander. He received the Purple Heart award and two Silver Star awards for his actions.

He was a hard worker and was always helping others. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters: Richard W Shurtleff, Carolynn (Ed) Phelps, Jean (Courtney) Bowen, Darla (Curtis) Weston, Celestia Dabb Ross, Chuck (Dara) Shurtleff, Tim (Lisa) Shurtleff. Also surviving is one brother David (Betty) Fiet and twin sister Mina Mitchell Protzman, 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother and one sister.

The family would like to thank all those who helped care for Dad, especially Hospice who were so helpful and kind.
