Obituary

Judy K. Lundgreen our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 15, 2018.
Judy was born to Junior T. Lundgreen and Adaline K. Telford in Ogden on March 15, 1942 and was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from Ben Lomond high school in 1960. Judy worked at the IRS as a tax examiner before retiring after 30 years.

She married her husband of 32 years, Carl L. Nelson in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was soon after solemnized in the Logan temple, and they were divorced later in life but remained best friends.

Judy belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served many callings throughout her life. She served as a ward pianist and organist off and on from the time she was 12. She also served within the primary and relief society.

If you couldn’t find her playing the piano, doing family history work, or cooking, you could always find Judy out working in her garden. One of Judy’s proudest accomplishments in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her favorite thing was to spend time with her family, she was always willing to share her testimony of the gospel that she loved so much, with all that would listen.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; Carl; her baby boy Douglas Delaino Nelson; and her siblings Connie B. Cook and Brance Lundgreen.

She is survived by her 5 children; Carl David (Jody) Nelson, Todd Lundgreen Nelson, Cara Lee Nelson, Michael Casey (Ardell) Nelson, Dustin Delaino (Holly) Nelson and Step-son Ronald Lee Nelson. Siblings; Patsy B. (Richard) Pledger, and Mark T. Lundgreen. Judy is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Judy and her family would like to thank her many good friends and family for their caring ways during her illness. She would also like to thank Dr. Vincent Hansen’s wonderful staff at McKay-Dee Hospital and Hearts for Hospice, for their exceptional care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, Judy asks that donations be made to Shriners Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., at the Mound Fort 1st Ward, 952 Childs Ave, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the same location from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and prior to the services from 10:00-10:45 A.M.
