Obituary

Jason William Read, our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend was called home to Heavenly Father suddenly and unexpectedly on October 9, from complications related to a motorcycle accident on September 23. He was born on February 5, 1978 to Cindy Critchlow and Michael Boyd Read.

He graduated from Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah where he played basketball. After graduation he worked at Winegars. For a short time he drove a delivery truck for Farr's lce Cream before returning to Winegars where he became a store manager. He attended the Weber State University Police Academy. He graduated in 2005 and went to work for the Centerville Police Department.

He found and married the love of his life Danielle Michelle DiGiovanni on September 9, 1999. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on February 2, 2002. They are the proud parents of three amazing children, Anthony Jason, Joshua William, and Ashlee Danielle Read. Jason loved his children so much and was so proud of them. They were the light of his life.

Jason had a huge loving and warm personality that drew many people to him. His smile was contagious and people loved being with him. His hugs would just swallow you up and you would feel safe and secure. When he was young he loved to go on fishing trips with his father and his Grandpa Critchlow. He loved riding his Harley. The rides gave him a chance to enjoy the world's beauty and unwind from the pressures of his job.

Jason worked for the Centerville Police Deportment for 13 years. He was a K-9 officer for 3 years. He had worked for the department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit. He was currently serving as a field training officer. He received many awards during his tenure as a police officer including two lifesaving medals and a Medal of Valor. Jason had a unique gift of making everyone feel they had value and self-worth even though he was dealing with many of them in difficult circumstances.

Jason was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Herbert and Delphia Christensen and Grandpa Donald Critchlow.
