Obituary

Karen Louise Britton Kerkove, 74, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in Brigham City, Utah, due to health complications. Karen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 6, 1944, to Marion Branch Britton and Erma Louise Gold.
Karen grew up in Salt Lake City with her parents and five siblings. Helping her parents with the other children and working with her father at the butcher shop.
Karen married Dennis Paul Roone in 1962 for a short time, then moved to California where she met the love of her life.
Karen married Earl Raymond Kerkove on Dec. 4, 1965, in Las Vegas, until his death on Sept. 27, 2009. They were married for 44 years.
Karen worked over 30 years for ATK in Promontory, Utah, in the Aero Space Program. She worked as a secretary, also with the press; then an administrative assistant for director in master scheduling. Karen was also helped in the organization of the Toys for Tots and Angels for Christmas programs for the company.
Karen enjoyed golfing, softball, bowling, trap shooting and hiking. Her favorite things to do were reading, crochet, gardening and spending time with her family.
Karen has been a member of the Box Elder Auxiliary #2919 since Jan. 1, 1977. She was involved with many charitable events through the years to present.
Karen was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She would light up a room with her vibrant personality, loving spirit and always took time to spend with those she loved.
Karen is survived by her two daughters, Susan Louise Kerkove (Josh) and Terri Lynn (Burke); seven wonderful grandchildren: Marty Ray Gold; Krisitine JoAnn Walters; Crystal Lynn Wagner; Jessica Louise Matern (Brandon); Emily Karyn Kerkove Glista; Anders Christian Burke (Kelsey); and Jeremy Raymond Kerkove. 18 great-grandchildren: Lillian Madison Epling; Destiny Ann Epling; Riley Ray Wagner; Boston Ray Abner; Caleb Earl Abner; Bailey Ann Burke; Sophie Elizabeth Hoffman; Ayden Bruce Greene; Liam Bren; Maxx Charles McFinnagin Flinn; Abigail Ila Greene; Raiden Anders Burke; Raymond Louise Kerkove; four siblings: Earl (Renae) Britton; Larry (Linda) Britton; Beverly (Michael) Turner; and Thomas (Lori) Britton; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her love, Earl Raymond Kerkove; her parents; her brother, Robert William Britton; and her niece, Christie Klungervik.
A viewing will be held at the Brigham City 20th Ward, 640 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, Utah, on Wednesday, April 17, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and funeral services from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery.
