Shaun Myers

Shaun Myers

President and Owner

Shaun Myers, CFSP is the President of Myers Mortuary. He serves in many community, state and national capacities. In funeral service, he has served as President of the National Funeral Service Foundation Board and as a member of the NFDA Executive Board of Directors. He graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota.

Shaun and his wife Christina love to serve and give. They have participated in many service projects in Ogden City, Weber County, Ecuador, Mexico and Guatemala. He has served in many leadership capacities including, 2023-2024 Chair of the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce, President of the following organizations, Foundation for Hospice of Northern Utah, Utah Funeral Directors, the Utah Funeral Service Licensing Board, Mt. Ogden Rotary, Stake President of the Ogden Utah Stake, Mission President of the Mexico Hermosillo Mission, WSU Alumni Association President, WSU Wildcat Club President and has been a member of the WSU Board of Trustees, President of the WSU School of Social and Behavior Science Advisory Committee. Shaun has served as a member of many committees, foundation boards non-profit organizations.

His greatest love are his wife, Christina their six children and six grandchildren.

Christina Myers

Christina Myers

Outreach Director

Christina Myers is the heart and soul of the Myers Mortuary family. Born in Ljunby, Sweden, Christina found a home in Ogden, Utah. As a young woman, she served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guayaquil, Ecuador and later served a Mission Leader with her husband, Shaun in the Mexico, Hermosillo Mission. Christina taught Spanish at Weber State University from 1982-2016. 

Christina serves in many leadership positions in our community, including: The Ogden Nature Center, On Stage Ogden, the YCC, Tree House Museum and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. 

Christina is an amazing wife, mother and "mor mor" or grandmother to six children and six granchildre.

Tracy Franklin

Tracy Franklin

General Manager

Tracy Franklin, CFSP, CCO.

Tracy was raised in Germany and South Carolina. He graduated from Summerville High School in Summerville, S.C. and received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Mortuary Science from Arapaho Community College in Littleton, Colorado.

He has been employed in the funeral industry since 1994. Tracy is registered as a Certified Crematory Operator with Cremation Association of North America. He is a member of the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce. Tracy is a member of the Utah Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is also a member of the Utah Share Support group for Infant and Stillborn loss and the American Society of Embalmers. Tracy is a very caring, compassionate and proficient funeral director.

He is a current resident of West Haven, Utah. Tracy is married to his wife Patricia and together they have seven children. He enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, cooking and is actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America.

Ken Borup

Ken Borup

CCO, Manager of Brigham City Mortuary

Ken Borup has been with Myers since 2012 and started in funeral service in 1984. He knew he wanted to be a Funeral Director at an early age. His father was killed when he was 11 years old and the funeral director that took care of the services was a great comfort to him and his family that he was impressed that he wanted to be a Funeral Director. Ken was born in Tremonton, UT and raised in California where he began his career in funeral service. He graduated from Cypress College of Mortuary Science, is a certified cremation specialist and a member of Rotary International and attends the Brigham City Rotary Club. Ken and his wife Tracy have four children and reside in Tremonton, UT.

Shawn Kotter

Shawn Kotter

CFSP, CCO, Manager of Roy Mortuary

Manager of our Roy Mortuary, Shawn Kotter, CFSP, CCO, was raised in the South Ogden area. He is the son of Rey and Dian Belnap Wunderly, and the late Gary Kotter. He graduated from Bonneville High School, served a LDS mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Weber State University where he played with the percussion ensemble and on the drum line. He attended Cypress College in Southern California where he made the Dean’s List and graduated with Honors in the field of Mortuary Science. He has been a licensed funeral director in the State of Utah since the fall of 2003 and with Myers Mortuary since the spring of 2007.

Shawn, his wife, and their five children reside in West Point. He enjoys helping those families that are at such a tender and emotional time of their lives.

Steven Beenfield

Steven Beenfield

Steven J. Beenfield, is one of the most experienced funeral directors in the state of Utah.  He joined the Myers Mortuary team in 2020. He worked in Salt Lake City at Larkin Mortuaries for many years.  Steve grew up in upstate NY, but has made Riverdale his home for more than 30 years. He earned an Associates Degree and also his Mortuary of Science degree from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse NY in 1989.

Steve and his wife, Julie have five children and 12 grandchildren. He enjoys piano, woodcarving, gardening, camping, hiking, anything in the water, building things, and tinkering in his shop. He and Julie are currently serving as inner city missionaries for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 


Matthew G. Myers

Matthew G. Myers

CFSP, CCO

Matthew G. Myers, CFSP, CCO, graduated from Box Elder High School in 2000. He attended both Weber State University and Utah State University before obtaining his Degree of Mortuary Science from Mesa Community College. In 2008, he returned to Brigham City to work with his father, Greg, in the Brigham City Myers Mortuary. He resides in Brigham City and loves spending time with his children Emma, Jacob and Madelyn. He is a member of the service organization Kiwanis Club of Brigham City. He enjoys giving service to others and has been given the title of “Honorary Captain” at Hill Air Force Base for his efforts to integrate the soldiers into the community.


Wesley Riches

CCO

Wesley Riches, CCO is one of the many outstanding funeral directors at Myers Mortuary.  He has been with Myers since 2008 after a 13 year career in education.  Wes grew up in Sandy, but has made Ogden his home for more than 25 years. He earned a B.A. in Physics Education from Weber State University, M.ed. in School Psychology from Utah State University and earned his mortuary of science degree from Salt Lake Community College. He currently sits on the PAC board for the SLCC mortuary science program.

Wes and his wife Crystine have ten children. They serve in many ways in church and the community.


Triston P. Franklin

COO

Triston P. Franklin, joined the staff at Myers Mortuary in 2016, was born in Ogden and grew up in West Haven, UT. He graduated from Roy High School. He served a full-time LDS mission in the Jackson, Mississippi area. Upon returning home from his mission, Triston’s desire to serve others continued and he began his career as working viewings and services at Myers Mortuary in Roy. He graduated from Salt Lake Community College with his Mortuary Science Degree in 2019.

Triston loves playing and watching sports. He also loves being outdoors and going on adventures with his wife, Rikki; and their dogs, Rocco and Max. Triston currently resides in the Ogden area and looks forward to serving families for many years.

Kurtis Wilkinson - CCO

Kurtis Wilkinson - CCO

Funeral Service Intern

Kurtis Wilkinson joined our Myers Mortuary team beginning in 2021. He has lived in Ogden, Utah for 32 years but most recently he resided in Rock Springs, Wyoming for the past 6 years working in higher education. Kurtis graduated from Ogden High School in 2001 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication from Weber State University in 2009 along with his Master of Professional Communication Degree (MPC) from Weber State University in 2015. Kurtis graduated from the Salt Lake Community College in 2023 with a degree in Mortuary Science School.

Kurtis served a full-time LDS mission in Moscow, Russia and loved his time serving the Russian people. Kurtis enjoys playing and watching basketball, playing the guitar and piano, and he loves the Utah Jazz. He also enjoys anything outdoors and spending quality time with his wife, Stacey; and his daughter.

Brandon Patterson

Brandon Patterson

Manager of Evergreen Memorial Park, Brandon Patterson has been a Myers Mortuary associate since 1998. Brandon grew up in Huntsville and Roy, Utah. He graduated from Roy High in 1992. He attended Weber State University on a soccer scholarship where he studied Communication and Computer Science.

Brandon has overseen the continuous vison and growth of Evergreen Memorial Park, meeting the unique needs of the community that he proudly serves. He supervises all of the specialty programs held at the cemetery; including the Easter Pinwheels of Hope, Memorial Day Sunset Services, and the National Children’s Day Candlelight Vigil.

He enjoys running, boating, and spending time with his family. Brandon and wife, Meagan, together have five children.

In Memoriam ~ Richard Myers

1932 - 2017

One of the most successful and nationally recognized funeral directors in the Western United States, Richard Myers, CFSP, was a caring and devoted funeral professional. He served as President of the National Funeral Directors Association, and was founder of the National Pursuit of Excellence Program - a recognition program for outstanding funeral homes in the USA. Richard had committed untiring effort, time and energy to the building of neighborhood, city and state and religious organizations. His passion for our community was shown by his involvement in many civic organizations and he has served as Chairman or President of many organizations, including the Weber State University Board of Trustees, and The Chamber-Ogden-Weber, the Weber County Fairgrounds Board and Ogden Pioneer Days.

Gregory R. Myers, CFSP Lived and worked at Myers Mortuary in Brigham for most of his amazing career in funeral service. In 2022, he was called to his eternal home, the result of the COVID pandemic. Greg graduated from the University of Minnesota.  Greg's legacy and expertise continues today through the high quality of service and excellent technical skills he shared with our staff. 


Reed Myers

Reed Myers, CFSP retired from the Myers Mortuary 2017.  He is still an important part of the Myers Mortuary family and legacy. Reed attended Weber State College and received his degree in 1966 from California College of Mortuary Science in Los Angeles, California.

He has been a highly respected funeral director who has served our community for more than 40 years. 

Reed has strong bonds of love for his wife Janice and their four children and nine grandchildren.  Reed enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, organizing anything and fulfilling his church callings. Reed has had extensive experience in church service and leadership. He served as bishop of the Ogden 39th ward for ten years and as South Ogden Stake Clerk for many years.

The Academy of Professional Funeral Service has honored Reed Myers, CFSP, with it's highest honor as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner.


Stephen Johnston

(Retired Emeritus)

Stephen Johnston, CFSP A native of Clinton, Utah, Stephen graduated from Clearfield High School and attended Weber State University and the University of Utah. Stephen graduated from California College of Mortuary Science, where he received the President’s Award for his academic achievement. He also received the MuSigma Alpha Gold Key Award given by the National Association of Colleges of Mortuary Science for his outstanding high standards and dedication to the funeral service industry. He has been a licensed funeral director since 1972. His special gift in the funeral home is his professional cosmetic ability in trauma restoration and major cosmetic restoration.

Stephen has one son and three grandchildren. He enjoys reading, playing golf and spending time with his grandsons. Stephen is a member of the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce.
