Arlene, 75, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on February 22, 2012 due to heart failure.
She was born June 15, 1936 in Magna, Utah. She was the eleventh child of twelve born to Thomas William and Hortense Holton Collings. She married Melvin Max Hunsaker on November 12, 1954. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on September 12, 1957. Max and Arlene raised their family in Ogden, where they have resided for the past 55 years.
Arlene retired from Meridian Publishing Company. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served faithfully as a Visiting Teacher, Relief Society President, Primary Teacher (her favorite) and most recently Ward Librarian.
She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, genealogy, camping, traveling, walking with her friends and most of all being with her family.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband, Max, her children Connie and Mark Neal, Ogden; Kelly and Rickie Hunsaker, Ogden; Mike Hunsaker, Marriott-Slaterville; Barbara and David Gordon, North Ogden; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Danny and Norma Collings, West Valley; Bill and Helen Collings, Magna; Dorothy and Boyd Newman, Seattle, Washington; Richard and Delores Collings, Bountiful; Ruth and Dale Robinette, Hyrum; Glenn and Raone Collings, Brigham City; Lynn Collings, Perry.
Preceded in death by Kenneth C. Hunsaker, son; Jessica and Jason Hunsaker, grandchildren; Lester and LaPreal Collings, brother and sister-in-law; Mae Collings, sister-in-law, Perry and Maxine Collings, brother and sister-in-law, Linda and Julie Collings, sister-in-laws.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Rockcliff 3rd Ward, 236 Porter Avenue, Ogden. A viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to services 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment at Honeyville City Cemetery.
