Bertran H. Vaughn born in West Weber, Utah on April 29, 1930 to William Lorenzo Vaughn and Florence Hogge Vaughn, passed away June 8, 2017, in Idaho Falls, Idaho surrounded by his loving family. On March 2, 1951 Bert married his sweetheart Renee Moyes. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 25, 1954 for time and all eternity.

Bert grew up in West Weber. After graduating from Weber High, he joined the Army. He served in the Korean War and went on to eventually earn an honorable discharge. Upon returning he spent 37 years working for Defense Depot Ogden, retiring May 3, 1985. His goal was to be retired as long as he worked (which was cut a little short by 5 years).

Bert and Renee chose to make their home in Plain City and raised their family there. After they both retired they would spend their winters in Mesa, AZ and their summers at their home in Bear Lake, UT. With retirement also came a love of traveling all over the United States, Mexico and Canada, but enjoying the West Coast the most. They enjoyed traveling with their many friends and loved it when anyone from the family would join them.

Bert enjoyed golfing, boating, camping in the motor home, fishing, hunting, traveling and whatever his sweetheart Renee was doing he was right by her side, as long as they were together it didn't matter what they did.

Survivors include his loving children, Brent (Leslie) of Hooper, UT, Regina (Joseph) Stauffer of Idaho Falls, ID, Rick (Diane) of Bear Lake, UT, daughter-in-law Lisa Vaughn, Clinton, UT; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 17 step great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Skeen of West Weber, UT and sister-in-law Jean Bitton Vaughn of Newport, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Renee; son Randy Vaughn; sister Thelma White; brothers-in-law Carl White and Ronald Skeen and a brother Delbert (Deb) Vaughn.

The family would like to thank Trisha, Vicki, Devin, Christine and Hillary with Alliance Hospice of Idaho Falls for all their loving care and support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. with a viewing prior from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the West Weber Cemetery; military honors will be accorded.
